Specialized Support for Our Newest Arrivals
At the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, Florida, we have various programs that provide extra support for babies who need more care.
Our Little Miracles Unit is for micro preemies born before 27 weeks gestation and who need extra specialized care.
These babies often require stabilization and to be immediately and carefully transported from labor and delivery to the NICU. The most important hour is their first hour of life, and our team is hands-on, making sure baby survives these critical moments.
The unit team is comprised of nurses, physicians and specialists who have extensive experience and training working with such tiny babies, including online learning and hands-on practice, with topics including:
- Extremely low gestational age infant
- Developmental care
- Skin care
- Use of specialized equipment for babies that size
Nurses also complete simulation practice to ensure they are prepared to respond immediately and swiftly to all of baby’s care needs.
When little Charlotte was born at 25 weeks gestation and weighing less than a pound, she became the smallest baby to receive care in our Little Miracles Unit.
Our Graduate Clinic is an outpatient developmental clinic providing additional support for families of NICU babies who need extra care after being discharged from the hospital.
Research shows that early intervention can make a significant difference for babies at risk for developmental delays. The team provides the tools and recommendations needed for your baby’s continued development and to bridge the gap between the NICU and home. We are honored to help families feel whole while providing the building blocks for the best outcome for your baby.
The clinic team provides care for these babies until they are 2 years old, with families attending routine visits for assessments and milestone tracking.
The Graduate Clinic team consists of an NICU APRN, Nurse Care Coordinator, Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapists and a Social Worker if needed.

When Sondra Rae, a popular morning DJ on XL106.7, gave birth to her twins, they had to be rushed to the NICU at AdventHealth for Children. Like so many other parents, she and her wife were scared and overwhelmed to put their newborns’ lives in someone else’s hands. Watch Rae share her family’s emotional journey from holding their twins for the first time to finally going home happy and healthy as a family of four.

After 10 long years, TJ was finally able to say he was a big brother, however due to COVID-19 visitation restrictions, he was unable to hold his little sister Lexi for a whole month! We were honored to bear witness to this special moment as one of our very own NICU grads, Lexi, was able to meet her big brother for the first time! Join us in celebrating with Lexi and her family as they get to go home as a new family of four.
