AdventHealth Apopka debuts $26.3 million expansion
APOPKA, Fla., – AdventHealth Apopka is opening a new patient floor to better serve the growing population in Orange County. The $26.3 million investment increases the hospital's licensed bed count to 158.

This new floor, located on the fifth floor of the hospital, will address the increasing demand for complex care within the community. The 30,230-square-foot expansion adds 38 inpatient beds, including cardiovascular progressive care beds and four dialysis bays.
“The expansion of our hospital will enable us to offer high-quality, whole-person care to more patients closer to home,” said Parker Pridgen, CEO of AdventHealth Apopka. “As our West Orange communities continue to grow, we are committed to keeping pace by investing in capacity and specialty services.”
Expanding service offerings and rapid population growth have contributed to the need for additional capacity at the campus. According to Truven Health Analytics, the population of Apopka will increase by 8.46% in the next five years, making the provision of additional high-quality acute care services critical.

“Providing care in a convenient location is a key part of our mission,” said Dr. Omayra Mansfield, chief medical officer for AdventHealth Apopka. “We know that the presence and emotional support of loved ones during a hospital stay helps the healing process. Adding cardiovascular progressive care beds will augment our ability to provide advanced complex care close to home.”
In addition to the new patient floor, the investment also includes a new surface parking lot with 800 new parking spaces for guests and team members.
As a result of the expansion, over 100 new high-paying jobs have been created.
“With our highly engaged workforce, this expansion will afford us the opportunity to further grow and elevate our team through newly developed education and training opportunities,” said Melissa Leonard, chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Apopka. “It’s a blessing to provide specialty nursing jobs to those who live and serve in this close-knit community.”
