AdventHealth Centra Care is making a significant investment in the fight against COVID-19 by doubling its weekly rapid testing capacity and hiring hundreds of new clinicians at centers across the state. The rapid antigen test is run in-house with results back in 15 minutes.
Thousands of rapid antigen COVID-19 tests are now available at Centra Care locations. The increase is allowing Centra Care to conduct over 20,000 tests per week, which averages to about 100 tests per day at select locations.
Two Centra Cares in Central Florida — Sanford and Waterford Lakes — will operate extended hours until midnight, Monday through Friday to help make testing more accessible to the community. The Lake Buena Vista Centra Care continues to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are excited to be able to make more testing available. We want to enhance care for everyone in our community by increasing access to health care through additional providers and expanded services,” said Dr. Scott Brady, president and CEO of AdventHealth Centra Care. “By expanding the number of COVID tests available, we’re making it easier for people to know if they have COVID so that they can receive treatment and self-isolate.”
Those who want to be tested should make an online reservation to be evaluated by a Centra Care provider. Those who think they may have been exposed to the virus but have no symptoms should self-isolate and wait 5-7 days prior to testing.
