On Friday, Oct. 6, the AdventHealth Gordon Foundation hosted their 17th annual Golf Classic Tournament at Fields Ferry Golf Club.
The AdventHealth Gordon Foundation Golf Classic provides an opportunity to build comradery, celebrate local advances in health care and most importantly, raise funds that will maximize community impact. This year’s tournament raised a record $120,000 which go toward various hospital projects such as indigent care, health career scholarships, cancer support and strategic community needs.
Overcast skies didn’t dampen the day on the green for the 28 teams of 112 players. The cooler fall weather gave golfers a relaxing scramble, as they battled for first place, which was taken by a foursome from Dalton State College’s golf team, sponsored by Morning Point.
“We are proud of the impact these funds will make in our community and are thankful for the support of our sponsors and golfers in this year’s tournament,” said Jake Hager, foundation director for the AdventHealth Georgia Market. “This golf tournament helps us meet our goals to improve patient health, team health and community health.”
