Leaders at AdventHealth North Pinellas recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for an emergency room expansion. The expansion includes 18 private patient rooms for increased infection control and added comfort and privacy for patients and their families . This project is part of a larger expansion of the main hospital. The main hospital exterior façade will be completely renovated with a sleek design to allow the hospital to withstand Category 4 hurricane force winds, enhancing the level of patient safety. Additionally, the hospital’s main lobby will be renovated and will include art by renowned artist Christopher Still, thanks to the generosity of the AdventHealth West Florida Foundation.
“This hospital has been part of this community for nearly 100 years and has strong roots to the people we serve,” said Jason Dunkel, president and CEO of AdventHealth North Pinellas. “We are committed to making this hospital the best place for our community to receive health care and this project allows us to continue to elevate the quality of care we deliver to our community.”
AdventHealth North Pinellas has a longstanding record of providing excellent health care in the Tarpon Springs community. Since 2013, the hospital has achieved 12 consecutive semesters of ‘A’ grades in patient safety from the prestigious Leapfrog Safety Group. The 168-bed facility employs nearly 800 care team members who help contribute to the overall economic impact of the local community.
The ER is expected to be completed in 2020 and the entire main hospital renovation is slated to be completed 2022.
