ORANGE CITY, Fla., May 12, 2017 Florida Hospital Fish Memorial has selected Michele Johnson to serve as chief nursing officer (CNO), effective June 5.
In this role, Johnson will be responsible for the organization and administration of nursing care at the 175-bed facility.
Johnson began her career at Florida Hospital Orlando in 1998 as a registered nurse in the cardiac progressive care unit. She has served in a variety of clinical roles and has nearly 15 years of nursing leadership experience.
She most recently served as the director of strategic and clinical resources for Florida Hospital in Orlando. In this role, she was responsible for assisting in the development of the regions clinical strategic plan and leading multidisciplinary departments to improve clinical and financial performance, as well as overseeing the annual fiscal budget process for inpatient nursing, lab, pharmacy, rehab, care management and respiratory therapy.
A 34-year Deltona resident, Johnson is a Deltona High School graduate. She earned an Associate of Science from Daytona Beach Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University in Tallahassee. In addition, she received a Master of Nursing with an emphasis in leadership and management from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Johnson is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of nursing and second-largest nursing organization in the world. She is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, as well as the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives.
