Gordon Hospital, a member of Adventist Health System, was recognized on the "100 Great Community Hospitals | 2016" list by Beckers Hospital Review.
Gordon Hospital is the only hospital in Northwest Georgia to be recognized, as well one of only three hospitals in the state of Georgia.
The hospitals on this list are spread across the country, some not far from major metro areas and some in rural communities. Regardless of location or whether they are affiliated with a major system, these hospitals are vital parts of their respective communities.
Becker's has published a version of this list annually since 2011 and defines a "community hospital" as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs.
The Becker's editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the Leapfrog Group. Included organizations have earned recognition from one or more of these organizations.
