Misty Monastesse, MSN, APRN, FNP-C of the Texas Health Huguley Mobile Services Bus has been named to the region's 2018 Great 100 Nurses.
"The Great 100 Nurses are the best of the best, and we're honored to have a nurse of this caliber representing Texas Health Huguley in our community on the mobile services bus,' said Vice President of Patient Care Services Tammy Ellis, RN, FACHE, who is also a past recipient of the honor. 'All of our nurses set a high standard for each other, an example of excellence that is made up of hard work and compassion for every patient, every day. I am proud that Misty's work was recognized among the best in our region.'
Monastesse began her career as a phlebotomist and has worked her way up to family nurse practitioner. In nursing school, she received the Florence Nightingale, Helping Hands, President's Honor awards, and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Texas Christian University.
In 2015, Monastesse joined Texas Health Huguley as a nightshift nurse in the emergency department and moved to the Mobile Health Unit in October of 2017, where she treats those in the community who are not able to see a physician.
The DFW Great 100 Nurses Inc. annually sponsors the recognition to honor registered nurses in the area who exemplify excellence in the art and science of nursing. Nurses are nominated by their peers, and may only be named to the list once in their career.
The 2018 Great 100 Nurses were honored at the annual gala in Dallas, Texas.
