Experts in Effective Weight-Loss Surgery
Our comprehensive bariatric program goes beyond surgery to include education, nutrition counseling, behavioral health counselors and support groups. You’ll have access to a team of bariatric experts, including surgeons, dietitians and behavioral health counselors. They’ll be with you in body, mind and spirit at every step of your weight-loss journey.
You may qualify for weight-loss surgery if you have:
- A body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher or weigh at least 100 pounds more than your ideal body weight
- A BMI of 35 or higher and one or more conditions linked to obesity, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, arthritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or non-alcoholic liver disease
- Not seen results with other weight-loss methods
Our bariatric surgeons perform hundreds of procedures per year. They use minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery, to reduce complications and scarring and speed your recovery.
Specializing in Leading-Edge Weight-Loss Procedures
Our experienced surgeons perform a variety of weight-loss techniques. Your surgeon will work with you to find the best option for your lifestyle and health. Just as importantly, we have a comprehensive aftercare program. Your bariatric coordinator will connect you to a specialized team of counselors and dietitians. Together, they’ll support you for years to come.

Gastric Bypass
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass reduces the stomach, resulting in notable weight loss. After surgery, food will bypass much of the stomach and part of the small intestine. You’ll get full faster and have less appetite, helping you maintain weight loss. Typically a minimally invasive procedure, there is less pain and a faster recovery than with traditional surgery.
-
Sleeve Gastrectomy
Also called gastric sleeve surgery, this procedure removes up to 80% of the stomach and can lead to rapid weight loss. It's a popular option as it doesn't bypass the small intestine and has a low rate of long-term complications. It's also effective at improving or resolving Type 2 diabetes. It's typically a laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedure, which means less pain and a faster recovery than traditional surgery.
-
Duodenal Switch
Recommended for severe obesity, this procedure removes most of the stomach and changes the small intestine to reduce how much fat it absorbs. You may lose more weight with a duodenal switch than with other options, but there's a higher risk of nutritional deficiencies post-surgery. Usually performed laparoscopically, it's minimally invasive, so there is less pain and a faster recovery than with traditional surgery.
