Certifications and Accreditations
TAVR Certification
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) replaces a diseased aortic valve with an artificial valve. Certification from the American College of Cardiology focuses on the essential quality components pertaining to TAVR and now includes requirements for mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) procedures. It provides a framework to ensure hospitals are meeting high quality standards for transcatheter multidisciplinary heart teams, formalized training and shared decision-making.
HeartCARE™ Center
The American College of Cardiology has a new HeartCARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence program, recognizing hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to a comprehensive, high-quality culture. AdventHealth Tampa and AdventHealth Ocala earned this distinction in 2023 as part of “the elite group of U.S. hospitals that are going above and beyond to ensure each patient that comes through their doors has access to consistent, highest-quality cardiovascular care.”
ACC Heart Failure Accreditation

ACC Electrophysiology Accreditation
Electrophysiology (EP) Accreditation is an operational model that merges the latest science and process improvement methodologies within the Electrophysiology lab. This Accreditation is the result of diligent work by leading electrophysiologists. It incorporates recent guidelines and expert consensus statements by recognized professional organizations regarding the care of electrophysiology patients.
ACC Chest Pain Center Accreditation
Hospitals that earn ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms and have primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) available 24/7. As required to meet the criteria of the accreditation designation, they have streamlined their systems from admission and evaluation to diagnosis and treatment, all the way through to appropriate post-discharge care, recommendations and assistance in patient lifestyle changes.
ACC Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation
Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation recognizes our holistic approach to the assessment, treatment and management of patients receiving cath lab services. Participation in this program helps us implement all the pre-, peri- and post-procedures that are essential to the safe care and efficient scheduling of patients through the cath lab.
